Hooke Museum of miners 'work today, perhaps one of the few museums in Russia, in detail and clearly showing the stages of development of the miners' craft, subtlety profession miner, its complexity and risk. The history of coal mining industry can be traced from the XVIII century. When he reigned manual labor, and up to this time, supported by a wealth of factual material - nearly two dozen different collections and more than twenty thousand exhibits reflecting the working life and exploits of miners, their way of life.
The museum began in the 50s with a small exhibition, opened in the school № 4 of Gukova geography teacher, an avid camper and local historian Leonid Ivanovich Mikulin. His boundless enthusiasm and dedication helped to make the school a modest exhibition in a museum full of national importance. In 1965, the overgrown collection was moved in the House of Culture "Anthracite". The museum was awarded the title of national and immortalized the name of its creator - LI Mikulin.
New incoming documents and things had to add to the store, so the idea of a new building. In May 2000, the idea was embodied in the purpose-built museum building is overgrown with 24 exhibition halls and a total area of over 2,000 sq.m. Here, with great certainty recreated the whole process of coal mining layouts and dioramas - the place of issuing orders for the shift to the right of the extraction of "black gold".
