Elansky museum "Don Cossacks in the struggle with the Bolsheviks" was opened in the village Elanskaya Sholokhov District Rostov region.
The very village was founded by Cossacks in the XVII century on the left bank of the Don, near the village of Veshenskaya (birthplace of Mikhail Sholokhov), before the revolution consisted of 10,000 villagers.
