Elansky museum "Don Cossacks in the struggle with the Bolsheviks" was opened in the village Elanskaya Sholokhov District Rostov region.

The very village was founded by Cossacks in the XVII century on the left bank of the Don, near the village of Veshenskaya (birthplace of Mikhail Sholokhov), before the revolution consisted of 10,000 villagers. Now Yelanskaya home to about a hundred people. Memorial Museum is located on the estate of the Cossack entrepreneur Melikhova Vladimir Petrovich built, updated and contains exhibits of the means of Melikhova VP and the company "The village".

Before the entrance to the museum is a monument to Russian General and Ataman Pyotr Nikolayevich Krasnov. The history of the monument is also reflected in the museum.
