Soldier Synagogue - the only active synagogue in the city of Rostov-on-Don. It is located at the intersection of Newspaper alley and street Turgenev.
The history of the Rostov synagogue beginning in 1862 when Jewish soldiers decided to form their Jewish Prayer Society. In May 1862 a soldier with the permission of society Katerynoslav provincial government hired under its prayer house a special room. In 1872, for the Soldier's synagogue was built a new stone building, has allocated funds for the construction of a local merchant of the first guild IM Elitser.
