Klauskholm Palace is located in the eastern part of the Jutland peninsula in the mouth of the river - Goodenough. The castle is one of the most important historical sites in Denmark.

The founder of the palace in 1690 became Grand Chancellor Konrad kingdom Detlev von Reventlow. From 1718-1730, the castle was owned by King Frederik IV, it instructs how to build the castle and beautiful gardens around it. Over the past forty years in the palace it was carried out comprehensive reconstruction of the entire territory. The palace was the family nest Klauskholm mistress of King Frederik IV. In 1711 at a ball in Kolding Frederick IV met a beautiful young 18-year-old girl Countess Anna Sofia Reventlow and fell in love with her at first sight. While the king was already married to Queen Louise. Countess Anna's mother was against it due to the king's daughter, and hide in the family estate Klauskholm. In 1712, Frederick IV of secretly stole his favorite and married her. In 1721, after the death of Queen Louise, they were able to officially get married, and Anna was the rightful queen. After the death of King Frederick IV came to power, his son from his first marriage, Christian VI of which hated stepmother. Anna King banished to the patrimony Klauskholm, she had no right to leave the palace.

From 1800 to the present time the castle has a kind of Berner-Shield-canvas. Castle was awarded the Europa-Nostra for the excellent restoration.
