If you literally translate the word "Kinerma", it would mean "precious earth." Kinerma a Karelian village, lost in the depths of Pryazha region. The village was founded over four hundred years ago and chronicles the data indicate that it refers to the appearance in 1563. A unique feature of Kinerma is that out of 17 homes located in it, 10 of them are monuments of architecture. It is for this reason Kinerma no ordinary abandoned village, but a truly integrated real extraordinary monument of wooden folk architecture Livvik Karelians. Enough ancient settlement has kept not only some detached houses, but also all its historical appearance.

Particularly noteworthy is the fact that the houses are located in the village of Kinerma circle in the center of which is a chapel and the old cemetery, hidden densely spruce .  The chapel in the village is already about 250 years from the beginning of the 18th century, and the locals are transmitted from generation to generation, the legend of its sudden occurrence .  Legend tells that when soldiers returning from service in his knapsack lay icon of the Smolensk Mother of God .  Hunger is stronger prevailed soldier, and he decided to exchange his icon on the bread at the first available merchant .  But then he was blinded soldiers .  He decided to once again regain its icon, and then his vision was restored .  Soon the soldiers reached Kinerma, spent the night here and left in the morning, and local residents overheard a woman's voice that begged for salvation .  People saw the place and decided to erect an icon on the very spot the chapel, calling it in the name of Our Lady of Smolensk .  All the villagers are sure that it is the icon of such a long time protected the village from harm .  Icon left the village in the 80s of the 20th century; it was moved to the Museum of Fine Arts, where she is now .  The villagers say that after the icon of the left edge, life here has become much worse .  Then the chapel decided to write an exact copy of the icon, which took pride of place in the church .  Importantly, in the chapel Kinerma preserved some icons and carved iconostasis .

No less interesting is the legend of the spruce forest, located around the chapel. According to legend, at the time when the chapel was built around it planted 13 spruce trees (the number of the Apostles). The guards say that if fir fall, be sure there will be something wrong. That is exactly what happened when the accident occurred at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. Currently it has 10 spruce trees.
