Potosi during the time of the Spaniards was the main city in South America .  But this is known far fewer .  Its significance in the life and history of the country most fully describe one of the best museums in Bolivia - "Mint", which is often called "American Escorial" .  What is there just can not be found - ethnography, art, Native American burial of the mummy, and, of course, numismatics .  Sam Mint appeared in Potosi in 1773, before he had a predecessor .  The building occupies an entire block and is located near the square on November 10 in the city center .  In the museum you will see a unique collection of coins .  Here are the ancient coins of all ages and machines which they were made .  Exposure Mint is extremely diverse .  Minerals scripts internationally renowned painters, arms, jewelery and antique utensils .  And next door, under the glass - several mummies .  In order to finally slay the imagination of tourists .  The symbol of the Mint, and then, and the city of Potosi was the mask Mascaron .  The image is not clear what deity or man appeared in the yard of 1865 .  And until now, no one knows who the Mascaron .  Versions were many: a deity called different nations, prominent Indians and famous colonialists of those times .  One of the assumptions, unknown master so humanised face of money itself .
