Not far from the village of Ivanski Bulgaria is an ancient Thracian tomb. The Thracians were one of the earliest inhabitants of the Balkan Peninsula. They inhabited the south-eastern part of Europe since the Neolithic Age to the Middle Ages.

The religious beliefs of the Thracians joined the cult of the sun and the earth's beginning. These views were reflected in the burial customs. Burial in the ground after the burning of the body - it is a symbol of the cult of fire. Building tombs and placing them in a variety of wealth was due to the tradition of respect for the dead. The presence of such Thracians tombs have been mandatory for governors, representatives of a noble aristocratic family, as well as rich people.

On the territory of Shumen region found more than 600 graves, made in different historical epochs. According to the location they are divided into several centers, the largest of which is located in the valley of Kamchia River near the village of Ivanski, villages and cities Yankovo ​​Smyadovo. It consists of 150 graves. Discovered in this place two Thracian tomb is a monument of history and architecture, it is being presented to the public in their original form.

The first fully preserved tomb discovered in her subjects are at the end of the IV. Don. e. It is built of limestone blocks without bonding solution, the floor is covered with stone slabs. Outside the structure of reinforced layer of boulders. The tomb consists of two rooms - the burial chamber and the corridor to the entrance on the south side. The camera is the sculptural decoration of the bed intended for the remains of the deceased and the rich funerary gifts. In the tomb were found 42 gold decorative elements, intended to decorate the horse's reins. They are currently on display in the Regional Historical Museum in the town of Shumen. The second tomb is located to the southwest of the first and is the newer buildings on time. It is built of large square blocks. Tomb partially destroyed, full recovery is currently not possible.
