House of Music - is the main concert hall in Porto, where there are three musical orchestra of the city: the National Orchestra of Porto, Barroca Orchestra and Remix Ensemble.

This is an unusual architectural structure is located on an area of ​​Boavista .  The House of Music was designed by Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas .  Critics have called the building of the House of Music in Porto one of the best works of Rem Koolhaas .  The construction of this building was part of the project of the city in 2001 as part of the EU initiative "Cultural Capital of Europe" in this year Porto was awarded the title .  But the building was completed only in the first half of 2005 and immediately became a symbol of the city because of its unusual shape .  Construction works were performed famous British construction corporation "Negro" with Portuguese construction company .  The interior design of the hall by famous Danish architectural firm .  In 2005, the President of Portugal in April officially opened House of Music .  After opening the concert of the National Orchestra of Porto, which was attended by prominent politicians of the city . 

The House of Music has two main auditoriums. The large auditorium seats 1,200 people. Small auditorium, which can be used as an audience, with an average capacity of 300 people.
