Franciscan Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was built in Pinsk in 1396. Franciscan monks arrived in Pinsk at the invitation of the Prince of Pinsk, Turov and Starodub Sigmund Keystutovicha. He helped the Franciscans to build a temple in gratitude and memory of his baptism.

In 1510, a wooden church was demolished and in its place the Franciscans built a stone. As he Pinsk, the church burned several times and destroyed. He survived the war and devastation, poverty and wealth. Residents of Pinsk loved this beautiful ornate church, so every time there were money and effort to revive it.

His church acquired a modern look during the reconstruction made in the years 1712-1730. The temple has a magnificent interior decoration - carved statues, stucco architectural details and beautiful frescoes. However, the main advantage of the church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary - he carved gilded pulpit with seventy sculptures depicting the apostles, saints and biblical scenes.

The Authority specifically for the Franciscan Church of the Assumption in Pinsk built Adalbert Grodnitsky from Vilna. He created the unique sound of the instrument in 1498 thanks to the pipes of wood and metal. Such a body is not found anywhere else in the world.

The Church of the Assumption is a unique fresco - Pinsk Madonna, written by Alfred Romer. On this extraordinary icon of the Virgin Mary is depicted as ordinary urban women, is almost indistinguishable from the others, marked by a faint glow halo and a beam of light that is shed on it from the sky.

Currently, the church is valid. Entrance is open and tourists who can admire its splendor and enjoy the wonderful sounds of the church organ.
