Franciscan Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was built in Pinsk in 1396. Franciscan monks arrived in Pinsk at the invitation of the Prince of Pinsk, Turov and Starodub Sigmund Keystutovicha. He helped the Franciscans to build a temple in gratitude and memory of his baptism.
In 1510, a wooden church was demolished and in its place the Franciscans built a stone. As he Pinsk, the church burned several times and destroyed. The Church of the Assumption is a unique fresco - Pinsk Madonna, written by Alfred Romer. On this extraordinary icon of the Virgin Mary is depicted as ordinary urban women, is almost indistinguishable from the others, marked by a faint glow halo and a beam of light that is shed on it from the sky.
Currently, the church is valid. Entrance is open and tourists who can admire its splendor and enjoy the wonderful sounds of the church organ.
