  Martin Franz - sculptor, painter, graphic artist and illustrator, was a prominent figure of modern art of the 20th century Hungary. This influential artist founded his own art school and led an active social life in South Transdanubia artistic community.

  Before the Second World War, Martin Ferenc lived many years in Paris and traveled to Western Europe, he was familiar with many famous contemporary artists and spun in circles of artists, who actively supported the most recent avant-garde trends of the time. After the war he became one of the most important and prominent supporters of abstract art movement in Hungary.

  In 1974 in Pecs was opened museum, which exhibited works of art, sent Martin Ferenc city. Catalog of its artistic heritage, edited by the author of a monograph on the artist Eva Hars was published in 1985. Martin Ferenc died April 10, 1986 in Pecs.

  The permanent exhibition on Káptalan St, 4 with the works of Martin Franz - paintings and sculptures opened in 2011 and provides the most complete picture of his work.
