The town of Chrudim is easiest to get from Pardubice. Capital region Chrudim connects with bus and train connections.

Chrudim, named after the river Chrudimka, which flows through the city - a very picturesque village, located on a plain at the Iron Mountains. It was founded by Slavic tribes in the X century. Two centuries later, this village became interested in the prince, who built his residence here.

1260 is considered the founding date of the city .  Like many villages in the district of Pardubice, Chrudim was founded by Czech King Premysl Ottokar II .  In 1337, in the castle of the ruler was a big fire, after which the residence is no longer subject to recovery .  Local residents did not panic and built in its place a Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary .  Generally, fires occurred in the medieval Czech towns permanently .  Not escaped this fate and Chrudim .  It burned a couple of times, so much so that then had to completely rebuild all the buildings .  Especially terrible fire happened here at the turn of the XV-XVI centuries .  In them, however, the town hall survived that adorns the main square of the city .  It was built in 1560 and then rebuilt in Baroque style in 1721 .  Another preserved after the fire house is on the street Brzhetislavovoy Mydlarzhskim called by the name of the family who built it .  It is made in the Renaissance style and decorated with elegant arcades .  It now houses the Museum of puppetry .

In addition, the city has also two churches built in the XV-XVI centuries. This is the church of St. Michael and the church of St. Catherine.
