Modest, simple building of the temple of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary located in the area of Dolny. It is considered the founder of the Capuchin monastic order, which appeared in Olomouc in 1615. Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary was built after the Thirty Years' War - in 1655-1661 years. Unfortunately, the name of the architect of the church in written sources has survived.

Since the church was monastic, that is intended purely for the administration services, its structure was very simple. It is a one nave with a rectangular presbytery and two chapels. Similar church Capuchin Order was building throughout Europe. In Olomouc the temple came after a long Swedish occupation and became a symbol of the fact that life is part of the groove.

The facade of the church, facing the Dolni square, has a high gable. The only decoration of the church - it is a magnificent mosaic, which depicts the Virgin. This panel is installed above the portal, preserved since the construction of the church. On one of the stones at the entrance to the church you can see the date of the Established Church - 1655.

Capuchin monastery ceased to exist in 1950, but the Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary was confiscated from him even earlier - in 1942. Under the holy vaults located Infectious Diseases Clinic.

After the departure of the monks of the monastery the building was owned by the Czech state, so it is first given to the needs of the army, and then presented the management of the railways. Only in 1989 Capuchins returned to Olomouc and began to fight for their property. Long-term trials have led to the fact that they gradually began to return their property.
