Vuni Palace, or at least what's left of it, is located on a rocky plateau, which rises above the sea at 250 meters. It is believed that originally it structure was built around the beginning of V century BC governor of the city of Marion, to follow up the settlement Soli, after its inhabitants were against the Persians. However, when the Greek army in 449 BC led by general Kimon captured Kition and Marion, thus getting rid of the Persian rule, the palace was rebuilt several times. Originally built in the oriental style, after the reconstruction it became more like a typical Greek buildings.

Then, in the palace complex consisted of a few temples and the three large terraces, one of which housed the palace itself and an area of more than 4 thousand sq.m. Scientists suggest that the palace was just over 130 rooms. At its center was a huge swimming pool. One of the main features of the building was that thanks to sophisticated water system almost every room it was supplied fresh water. In the western part of the building baths were discovered, which were also equipped with a beautiful pipe system, which supplies both cold and hot water.

Across the terrace stood a temple dedicated to the goddess Aphrodite. It was there, in addition to a variety of sculptures, kept treasures. And at the very bottom of the terrace houses were intended for ordinary people and workers.

However, the castle was completely destroyed in 380 BC as a result of a strong fire arranged by the Persians again seized power, after which survived only bearing walls. Since then, the palace has not been restored.
