Geologists believe that the current form of the pyramid gained due to erosion of clay soil. In addition, the formation of the pyramids is not completed - its shape and appearance they are slightly vary from year to year. Today, there are pyramid-like mushrooms, minarets, haystacks, Alpine peaks, obelisks, swords, Gothic temples and pyramids themselves directly.

At the village Karlanovo in Blagoevgrad region are four pyramid of special interest. They resemble the hundred-meter obelisk with steep slopes, inaccessible peaks are covered with herbaceous vegetation. Not far from the village of Rozhen, you can see more than a thousand so-called pyramids - big and small rocky mushrooms.
