Park King's Domain, which can be translated as royal possessions - is 36 hectares of lawns and walkways in the heart of Melbourne on the southern bank of the Yarra River. One of the most beautiful parks in the city, it was founded in 1854, and got its name during the celebration of the centenary of Melbourne in 1935.
The park is adjacent to the popular tourist attractions such as Alexandra Gardens, Queen Victoria Gardens and Royal Botanic Gardens. Inside, there are government building, "Music Bowl" Sidney Myer, the first superintendent of the district cottage Port Phillip Charles La Trobe and Memorial Remembrance. The stadium often hosts concerts of classical and popular music, and in the winter months it turns into a skating rink.
One of the attractions of the park is standing alone Calabrian pine. The seeds of this tree brought a young soldier, who was returning to Australia with the First World War. Other well-known tree in the park - a lush fern with a number of steps leading to a small pool. Around the park laid a 4-kilometer track, which was once intended for horses, but today it was chosen by supporters jogging.
In the park you can see a wide variety of monuments and sculptures, such as the Memorial to the Australian Aborigines. Another interesting object - a sculpture consisting of three bronze bells dedicated to Tilly Aston, a blind activist, has done a lot to help people with disabilities and dissemination in Braille (for the blind) in everyday life. Obelisk with four lions dedicated to the memory of Australians who died during the South African War of 1899-1902. The park is generally a lot of sculptures, to perpetuate the memory of soldiers - men and women - who served and did not return from a variety of wars.
