Adding to the list of UNESCO World Heritage park Carlton Gardens is situated on the northeastern tip of downtown Melbourne. On the territory of 26 hectares is a Royal Exhibition Building, Melbourne Museum, cinema «Imax», tennis courts and many playgrounds for children. The roster of UNESCO Building Royal Exhibition Building and Carlton Gardens Park listed as "places of historical, architectural, aesthetic, social and scientific significance for the state of Victoria."

Carlton Gardens - is an outstanding example of landscape design of the Victorian era with broad lawns and a variety of plants, representing European and Australian flora. Among the trees that can be seen in the park - the British and Austrian oak, poplar, sycamore, elm, fir, cedar, Araucaria and evergreen plants, such as large-rubber plants in conjunction with annual flowers and shrubs.

The Carlton Gardens can be found animals - possums, ducks, giant Belonogov, Kookaburra, and many urban birds.

Wandering through the alleys of the park, you can admire the numerous fountains and architecture of the Royal Exhibition Building, here and there looking out of the tree crowns. Two small lakes adorn the southern part of the park. In the northern part is a museum, tennis courts, a house supervisor and playgrounds for children, designed as a labyrinth.
