Guanlin Temple - this is one of the attractions of Luoyang, located 7 kilometers south of the city. The temple was built in 1596 during the reign of Emperor Wanli of the Ming Dynasty.
The fame of his temple also received as the tomb of a Chinese general Guan, who lived in the era of the Three Kingdoms. In Chinese history, this man has earned the respect of different religions: here Buddhists, Confucians and Taoists.
Guan Yu was killed by citizens of the kingdom of Wu: having carried out the plot, they sent the head of the general in other kingdoms, but their vile intent was disclosed. Guan Yu's body was carved of wood and buried along with the head of the southern gate of Luoyang, exactly where the temple was built later. The emperors of successive dynasties revered general who worship him as a god of war.
Temple consists of several rooms, each of which is decorated with memorial plaques, cypress trees and tiny figures of lions made of stone.

The main gate - the first is the entrance hall of the temple, which is decorated with a series of reliefs illustrating the legend of General Guan Yue. The next two rooms are decorated with no less elegant and demonstrate the collection of epitaphs, ancient steles, stone inscriptions. All of this is valuable to scholars of ancient Chinese history. The place where the General Guan Yu is buried, is just behind the third hall.
