Fado (derived from the Latin word "fate", which means "destiny") - is a special style of traditional Portuguese music. Fado Museum in Lisbon was opened in 1998 and is located in a spacious and beautiful building. The museum's exhibits tell the history of much of this genre. The walls of the museum are covered with information about how to develop Fado. A very interesting hall of the museum, which tells the story of the Portuguese guitar. In this room showing a film about how the masters did the Portuguese guitar, and along the walls exhibited different models of guitars. There is also a cafe where you can enjoy a live performance of Fado.
The museum is forbidden to take pictures, but there is a shop selling books about the art and culture of Portugal, including about fado, where you can buy music CDs.
