Boim Chapel - an architectural monument of the ancient city of Lviv, which was erected in the years 1609-1615. Chapel (Chapel) - a family tomb, where they found the eternal rest of the 14 people Boim family, which has been respected in Lviv and also very rich. Construction of the chapel began to plan and George Boim, and already finished one of his sons.

Today do not know exactly the name of the creator of one of the most famous architectural monuments of the city. According to some sources the construction of the chapel was entrusted to a team of architects Andrew Bomer, who around the same time engaged in the erection of several other buildings in Lviv. Also, experts note that the Boim chapel built by analogy with another ancient burial place - Zigmuntovskoy that is in the Wawel Castle in Krakow.

Boim Chapel was built in the late Renaissance style with a touch of baroque. But most of all strikes visitors a rich decorative trim of the western facade. Fanciful ornate patterns interwoven with figures of saints and images of biblical scenes. A very original and unusual looks seated figure of Christ, which is crowned with a dome. No less impressive is the interior of the chapel - here you can see the sculptures, made an acknowledged master - J. Pfister.

Interestingly, the walls of the chapel are oriented to the cardinal points, and externally it resembles a classic Carpathian church.

Boim Chapel was built on the territory of the then cemetery, which is next to the Catholic Cathedral. Later, namely in the XVIII century, the burial chapel was moved from another location, and handed her the keys to the cathedral. With the advent of the Soviet regime the chapel was closed to the public. And only in 1969 the chapel door opened again for visitors.
