Gostiny Dvor in Kronstadt is a monument of architecture and history of the XIX century. The architect made VI Oil. It is an object of cultural heritage of the Russian Federation and is under state protection.
Gostiny Dvor is located in the city center, it occupies the quarter between the main avenue street Civil, Karl Marx Street and Sovetskaya. Once in front of him was another Gostiny Dvor. These were the so-called Tatar ranks, but after World War II in this place there were residential buildings.
On the side of the street in the front of the Soviet in 2004 it opened the so-called "musical" fountain, and not far from it - memorial sign in honor of the 300th anniversary of Kronstadt. At the corner of Soviet and Karl Marx street is the central city library and across the street - Catherine Park (at the Bypass channel) and St. Andrew's Square, which was once set a church in honor of St. Andrew, now destroyed. Restore only the chapel. After Lenin Avenue can be reached in home life, and a little further you can see the St. Vladimir's Cathedral.
Seating yard - the only place in Kronstadt, through which all the buses, the terminal station for commuter buses.
In the first half of the XIX century on the site of the Gostiny Dvor shopping arcade were established before the time, until in 1827 Kronstadt visited the Emperor Nicholas I, celebrated improper condition of the place and velevshy construct a building that would meet its purpose. The project assumed that the building was supposed to be a miniature replica of Gostiny Dvor in St. Petersburg.
Seating yard built 26 March 1832. It is a large shopping center. It was located about 50 different shops and stores where you could buy overseas products, there was a product to suit every taste. Trade flourished in the arcade. But in 1874 a fire broke out in Kronstadt, and the building was destroyed. During the restoration work the project has been changed in some way (for example, were rounded corners), but in the form of buildings, you can still see his earlier ancestor of St. Petersburg.
It is noteworthy that in the reduction of a dispute broke out between the merchants, what color should be painted buildings: yellow or gray. On the general point of view, it did not come. As a result, half of the house has become yellow and the other - the sulfur. Only in 1890 it was achieved uniformity - the building has been brought into line with the original intent (the facade began to yellow).
In the middle of construction on both sides of the gate are made, resulting in a sort of two different buildings were under one roof - to go from one part to another, without falling into the street, it was impossible. In today's trading day on the second floor open halls are narrow, and thus, through passage appeared.
In the early 90-ies of XX century Seating yard was restored, the work was completed only by 2007. Locals got a renovated building which, like many years ago, regained the status of the largest shopping center of the city of Kronstadt.
