According to research by historians, the ancient civilization in what is now the western province of Kanchanaburi, Thailand, and there were a few thousand years. The remains of one of them and is a Muang Sing Historical Park, a total area of ​​736 sq.km.

The exact time of construction of the city and its founders - is unknown. Presumably, it was created in the style of the Cambodian Khmer Bayon between XIII to the XIV century. Not far from Muang Sing, archaeologists discovered the remains of ancient people, as well as jewelry, pottery, and metal tools. The ruins preserved buildings made of brick and laterite and belong to the XIII century Dvaravati era.

Muang Sing was important, according to the record of it in the annals of Prasat Phra Khan Khmer king Dzhayyavarman VII.

The town was surrounded by a deep ditch and several impregnable fortress walls, which also points to its importance. One of the most important surviving buildings in the park are a school of Mahayana Buddhist temples, including the temple of Prasat Muang central Singh. Other constructions of the historical park have smaller scale.

Realizing the high historical value of this place, the Department of Fine Arts held a reconstruction of Muang Sing in 1974. He was cleared of jungle and is officially recognized as a historical park on April 3 of that year, Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. After the inauguration of Muang Sing has become a popular tourist destination, as well as educational facilities.
