Alexander Nevsky Cathedral - Orthodox Cathedral, located in Kamenetz-Podolsk, made in neo-Byzantine style. The temple was founded on the 100th anniversary of the accession to the skirts Russia in 1893. It was built on public donations. Bookmark the church took place May 2, 1891, and in 1897 the cathedral was consecrated.

Construction of the cathedral, magnificent wall painting, buying religious accessories - all at a cost of more than the sum of one hundred thousand. In the church, even equipped with central heating. This new temple simply smote all their parishioners sophistication - it was made by Moscow craftsman Akhapkina two-tier iconostasis, covered in gold. Silver and gold shimmered all in the cathedral. Especially was beautiful and refined dishes, the Gospel and the cross itself, which was presented to the temple of Empress Alexandra Feodorovna, wife of Nicholas II. All the walls of the church were completely painted, the floor is decorated with ornaments, and in the middle it was a huge expensive carpet, decorated with artistic embroidery, which was presented to the temple of the local girls' school.

This cathedral struck by its grandeur and has been one of the most beautiful temples in Kamenetz-Podolsk. He had a huge main dome and four lateral semi-domes and a small bell tower above the western entrance. The main altar was dedicated to St. Alexander Nevsky, in memory of Alexander III. And the south altar was named in honor of St. Catherine. North altar bore the name of St. Nicholas.

Unfortunately, in 1936 the church was blown up by militant atheists and pulled up bricks. In 2000, the cathedral was completely restored thanks to donations from the townspeople, and again became one of the most beautiful sights of the city Kamenetz-Podolsk.
