One of the few monasteries built in our time, is on the outskirts of Kaliningrad, close to the historic Fort №5 (Kaiser Friedrich Wilhelm III).

St. Elizabeth's Convent was founded Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna Kol'tsova, invest their personal funds in the construction of the temple, which later became the main sanctuary of the convent.

In 2000, in the central region of Kaliningrad with the blessing of Metropolitan Kirill of Smolensk and Kaliningrad (later - the Patriarch of All Russia) was established by the St. Elizabeth's Convent. Today, the monastery with the temple of Elizaveta Feodorovna and Church of the Mother of God "Soothe My Sorrows" is considered the farmstead, and the women's monastery is located in a picturesque place of the Kaliningrad region (pos. Lakeshire).

Within the walls of the monastery are three active monastery (in honor of the Venerable. Alexander Svirsky, St. Ferapont of Mozhaisk, Saint Spyridon) and three under construction. The temples are the relics of the saints Fyodor Ushakov, Alexander Svirsky, and Saint Spyridon. Also on the territory of the monastery is a gallery of paintings Abbess Elizabeth, a museum in honor of the Holy Royal strastostoterptsev, a source with fonts and tanks of holy water. In the center of convent erected a marble monument to the princess. Next to the convent house where the dining hall and a hotel for pilgrims is the holy well.

Tourist attraction Holy Elizabethan monastery is also considered to worship the cross, 25 meters high.
