Betina - a village on the island of Murter which has kept the original beauty of popular Dalmatian and Mediterranean architectural and spiritual traditions. Intertwined pretty narrow streets and alleys, old stone houses, balconies, courtyards, quays, wharves, full of natural and man-made charm - all this is a true historical and cultural value. In Betina there are some iconic buildings: the parish church of St. Frane, built in the 16th century, the local area with a view of the sea, and shipyard and marina. Church of St. Francis of Assisi in the Baroque style with a bell tower, standing on a hill, is the pearl of Betina.

Betina, because of its location and authentic atmosphere, is one of the most beautiful places on the Croatian Adriatic. It is a village of farmers and Caulker, the successor of the Croatian tradition of wooden shipbuilding industry since the founding of the case in the 1740s. Betina, along with the town of Murter - the oldest settlement on the island, was first mentioned in documents in 1423. However, these lands have been inhabited during the time of the Illyrian tribes. On the evidence of ancient settlements in archaeological finds - many remains of Roman villas, mosaics and frescoes. Between the two settlements - Betina and Murter - is a common cemetery and the church of Our Lady at Gradina, the construction of which dates back to 1688 year.

Wooden Shipbuilding in Betina developed more than 260 years, the older it is the only craft on the island of Korcula. The descendants of the first shipbuilders are still living here, doing a family affair. Some of their work can be considered works of art and themselves masters repeatedly received prestigious awards. In addition, there occurs a return to traditional agricultural and coastal activities. Because of this a lot to find myself here connoisseurs identity. Gourmets should visit the fabulous fish restaurants Betina, however, any local restaurant will delight visitors with its kitchen.
