Tran Quoc Pagoda was built in the VI century during the reign of Emperor Ly Nam De. It was originally built outside the dam Yen Fu, and later moved to the West Lake. In 1815 there were carried out restoration work.
The temple is decorated stele of the XVII century, an inscription which tells the story of the pagoda. In the main courtyard in a huge pot growing bodhi tree, grown, according to legend, from the cutting of the tree under which Buddha attained enlightenment.
Near the temple is a magnificent brick stupa.
