Hoa Lu - the ancient capital of Vietnam, which is not far from Hanoi. The city preserved the magnificent temples, dating from the X-XI centuries, that in the XVII century have been carefully restored.
Dan Dinh Temple dedicated to the memory of Emperor Dinh Tien Joan, who founded this city in the tenth century. It is a massive building with a beautiful inner sanctuary. The emperor himself was buried on Mount Mayen, from the top of which offers great views of the surrounding area.
Nearby is another ancient temple dedicated to Le Dai Hanyu, former commander of the army of the first emperor and his successor on the throne.
