Royal Chapel, located in the city center, is the most ancient buildings related to the complex of the Cathedral of Granada. It was built by the architect Enrique de Egas in the 1505-1506 years. Royal Chapel is the place where the remains of the Christian kings of Spain - the most revered granadtsami Spanish rulers Queen Isabella, King Ferdinand, their daughter, Queen Juana, her husband King Philip and their eldest grandson Miguel Infante, who died at an early age.

The Royal Chapel, made in the style of late Gothic architecture. Blame tombs rest here for the royal couple Ferdinand and Isabella's owned by the famous Italian architect Domenico Franchelli who created her out of Carrara marble. The tomb is richly decorated with sculptural elements and surrounded by a wrought-iron grille extraordinarily beautiful and fine workmanship. The tomb of Queen Juana and King Philip was created by Spanish sculptor Bartolomé Ordóñez.

The main pride of the Royal Chapel - old retablo made of wood and gilt sculptor Felipe Vigarni in 1520-1522, respectively, and located in the main altar. Founded in Plateresque style, it tells the story of the liberation of Muslims from Granada and its subsequent baptism. On either side of the altar is a wooden statue of the king and queen, which the author depicted kneeling.

The Royal Chapel is also a museum, which is a collection of mostly paintings by Flemish, Italian and Spanish painters of the 15th century, which began to gather even Queen Isabella. Among them you can see the works of Rogier van der Weyden, Hans Memling, Dirk Bouts, Bartolome Bermejo Botticelli and Perugino.
