The museum district of the city of Gorodets Nizhny Novgorod region in 2007 to open a museum of samovars. The museum is located in the mansion of the nineteenth century, before the revolution belonged to the merchant Grishaev. A two-storey wooden house with carved architraves is a monument of architecture and urbanism of the second half of the nineteenth century and the wonderful sights of Gorodets.

Most of the exhibition of the Museum of samovars is a private collection of Nikolai Poliakov, provided more than 400 unique copies (considered to be the largest collection in Russia). Collecting art patron began with the family samovar, inherited from his grandfather.

The exposition consists of 500 samovars, as well as a variety of original items Russian tea ceremony. The variety of Russian identity is presented in the form of home and road samovars, coffee pots, samovars "Tete-a-tete" and "Egoist", most of them with the brand name. Particular attention is paid Samovar "Kitchen", made in the Ural factories Demidov. This samovar is divided into three parts - two were prepared soups and porridge, and in the third tea. The biggest samovar holds 53 liters, and the smallest - 75 ml. Originally looks samovar "Don Juan": standing arms akimbo, on the sides of the handle, patterned cap. Collection of the Museum of samovars is constantly updated with gifts from well-known guests and fans of old Russian traditions. The museum exhibited a large collection of antique irons.
