Mitchell Library - one of the largest public libraries in Europe, located in Glasgow, Scotland. Its collections include more than 1.3 million items - books, maps, periodicals. Also stored in the library archives of Glasgow city from the XII century.

The library is named after the tobacco King Stephen Mitchell, who bequeathed a large sum for the opening of the Public Library in Glasgow. The library was opened in 1877.

The building, built for the library on North Street in 1911, has long been a hallmark of the city. The copper dome topped by a statue of the work of Thomas Clapperton became a symbol of Glasgow.
