Madrasa Bou Inania is not just a former Muslim religious schools, but also one of the most interesting sights of the ancient city of Fez. It is one of the outstanding examples of world architecture.
Madrasa Bou Inania was built in 1350-1355 gg. in the Moorish style. The initiator of its creation was made by Bou Inan. It is the only school in the city, which has its own minaret. It was used not only as a school but as a Friday mosque. A certain feature of the madrasa was that placed next to the shop, the proceeds of which contained the school itself.
Inside the madrassas are patios, prayer and study rooms, which can get into the main yard. The complex is decorated with: a luxurious porcelain decor, exquisite plaster moldings and wooden carving. On the facade you can see a complex system of ancient water clocks that are unique specimen, preserved to this day. Earlier Muslim religious school at the same time could be trained up to 100 boys 8-10 years of age, but now it is not valid and serves as a monument to architecture of Merinidov.
In the center of the madrasah Bou Inania, one can see a large marble fountain. Near it is a gallery and a hall for prayer, for which housed living quarters. Prayer hall itself is beautiful: the light into the premises through the magnificent stained-glass windows, decorated with geometric patterns and interesting way stucco.
Near the central gate of the madrasah Bou Inania is a small wooden door framed by sturdy pillars, which is called the "Gateway to the poor." This input is for the Muslims who have come to ask for help. Not far away are the best retail shops that sold a variety of things, made hands of students.
Special attention of the visitors cause the walls decorated with arabesques and mosaics, carved cedar ceilings, made in the form of a seashell, a swimming pool, located in the hall for ablutions.
Today Madrasa Bou Inania - is a jewel, a precious masterpiece, indicating the richness of the ancient imperial city of Fez.
