The main attraction of Erzurum is an ancient building of the Great Mosque (Ulu Cami), built in 1179. The strict facade of dark stone walls covered with the finest decor and courtyard decorated with a colonnade are truly fascinating spectacle. The interior of the mosque is divided into seven aisles.
