Lyceum of Eger was built in 1765-85 years at the direction of well-known patron Archbishop Esterhazy Karoly architect J. Felner late Baroque. This is one of the oldest and most prestigious educational institutions in Hungary. Lyceum has the largest known nationwide diocesan library on the first floor, which is open to visitors. It preserves ancient documents and codes, manuscripts, here is the only original letters of Mozart in Hungary.

  In the west wing of the Lyceum on the 6th floor is a museum of astronomy and in the 53-meter tower - the camera obscura, or as it is called here, "Eye of Eger." With its help on a white bench in the hall of the museum is projected the image of the city. And from the balcony of the tower is a beautiful view of the city.
