Small but very interesting museum and cultural research center, known as the Tibet House, located in the Indian capital city of Delhi. Initially, the institution was organized in 1965 by the Dalai Lama in order to promote Tibetan culture and the preservation of its rich heritage, as well as a center for the study of Buddhism. The museum exposition is going to just Tibetans bit by bit. In addition to the museum, so the joint efforts of all the people was created also an excellent library.
The museum building is located in the heart of New Delhi, a modern five-story building. It contains about 5,000 different books and manuscripts, works of art, religious objects and temple utensils, and more. Also, there are lectures, seminars, conferences, exhibitions, festivals, film screenings and a variety of meetings on the history of Buddhism, philosophy, art and literature.
In addition to the United States in 1987, a Columbia University professor Robert Thurman, a famous Hollywood actor Richard Gere and contemporary composer Philip Glass was created by Buddhist society, which strongly helps Tibet House New Delhi.
Due to the fact that the issue of independence for Tibet today is very serious, and attracted the attention of many people around the world, the Tibetan home visits each year a huge number of tourists who are genuinely interested to get acquainted with this ancient and rich culture closely.
