Connaught (more consumed is the abbreviation CP) is the business, commercial and financial center of India's capital - the city of Delhi. Its main square is surrounded by retail shops, stores, offices of various companies. There are located the head offices of several of the largest companies of the country. Besides, it is real "Mecca" of all shoppers Delhi - Connaught on you can buy absolutely everything you want. In addition, the area has numerous cafes and restaurants where you can taste the national Indian dishes.

Once upon a time this place was a deserted place, where lived only jackals and wild pigs. But on the initiative of the British government's chief architect Nichols was developed project of downtown. Although Nichols left India in 1917, the project is yet to realize. Its implementation took Robert Tor Russell, who was the author of the design and Connaught Place.

Construction area started in 1929 and completed in 1933. The main architectural style was balanced and thoughtful Victorian style. But, unfortunately, at the moment it is not seen as clearly as before, because of the very active construction in the area and the entire region.

The area was named after the Duke of Konnotskogo - Prince Arthur, third son of Queen Victoria. The official name of this place - Rajiv Chowk, named after one of India's Prime Minister, the late Rajiv Gandhi.

The area is a large circle in the center of which is a huge area and radiating to all sides of the road.

Currently, the district completed repair and restoration work that began several years ago in the framework of the recovery and conservation of the cultural heritage of India.
