Ein Gedi - an oasis-reserve in the Judean desert on the western shore of the Dead Sea, 17 km north of Masada. Perennial spring falls from a height of 200 m and runs along the gorge of Nahal David. In the reeds along the creek are found wild goats, lady leopard; Eagles nest in the cliffs, the starlings.

Near the canyon is the hill of Tel Goren - one of the most important archaeological sites in the Judean Desert. Found five archaeological layers of the hill, including the remains of a pagan temple Chalcolithic period.

Throughout its history, Ein Gedi was repeatedly destroyed, but revived again and again. This lasted until about the VI century, when this place came the nomadic tribes, completely devastated the land. Preserved ruins of a unique water system Ein Gedi, which today is admired by professionals and the remains of the synagogue Roman-Byzantine period.
