On the Plaza de San Agustin in Cordoba is the old church of St. Augustine. Construction of this building sustained in the Gothic style, was begun in 1328 and completed seven years later, in 1335.

Today's appearance of the church is different from what it was after the construction. The original church building looked stricter and more restrained, but in the first third of the 17th century in the church were carried out restoration work, as its buildings are dilapidated, and its appearance has been slightly modified.

The facade is decorated with beautiful high bell tower, built in the 16th century and decorated with pilasters, balustrades and other decorative elements.

The interior of the church of San Agustin hit its magnificence. High arches and walls decorated with unique frescoes, gilded ornaments, delicate items and paintings devoted to biblical themes. Comply with the majestic interior and altars, artfully created unsurpassed masters and also richly decorated.

During the French invasion in the early 19th century, the church of San Agustin suffered significant damage. After that, the church building a few times trying to recover. In the period between 1981 and 1984 it was carried out restoration of the roof and wall sections of the transept on the south side. In 2003 we restored the north and south facades, the library, the altars. Restoration work carried out in 2006, returned to former glory and brightness of colors interior areas of the church. October 9, 2009 the church doors opened again for the parishioners.
