The Military Museum is located in the city of Chaves Menage tower - the surviving part of the town's castle.

Surviving Menage tower is square, the top of the tower is equipped with loopholes. The tower has a height of 28 meters, which is equivalent to the height of four-storey house. In 1938 the castle was listed as a monument of national importance in Portugal.
Inside the tower today is the Military Museum of the city of Chaves. The museum occupies six floors. Among the exhibits there are military uniforms, armor, weapons, flags, dating from the Middle Ages and ending our time. Weapons and armor of the Middle Ages mainly represented on the first two floors of exhibits on the upper floors will tell about the participation of Portugal in World War I and colonial wars in Angola and other countries.
