Church of the Holy Cross is part of the castle complex Decin. It is located next door to the palace rooms. The path from the castle to the church passes through the Rose Garden, which is on the north terrace. Rosary - is perhaps one of the most interesting parts of the castle of Decin. Unfortunately, the Rose Garden is open only in the summer, and the entrance is paid.

Holy Cross Church was built in 1691 in Baroque style. Before its creators had a difficult task to create a temple that would be fully repeated the Cathedral of St. Peter in Rome. Considering how big the main church of Catholics all over the world, we can understand the doubts and uncertainty about the architects of the castle church. However, they are partly coped with its task, as can be seen by visiting the chapel in person.

This temple was hurt during the bombings of World War II, so it is not affected interiors. It is almost the only room of the castle, the inner face of which came to us from time immemorial, and has not been changed through the efforts of restorers.

The name of the church was given a reason: it is perfectly explained by a local legend. The story goes that in 1530 one of the members of the genus Wartenberg with her family went on a horse ride on the nearby mountains. Horses something frightened and suffered. The whole family would have died if not for the cross, which stopped suddenly in front of team. Family Wartenberg was saved. In honor of the miraculous events of that memorable castle chapel bears the name of the Holy Cross.
