Questacon - The National Science and Technology Center in Australia, located on the southern shore of Lake Burley Griffin in Canberra. It's a huge center, which houses more than two hundred of interactive exhibitions devoted to science and technology. In the year it is visited by half a million people.

Questacon has been opened November 23, 1988 on the initiative of physicist Mike Hill, a professor of the National University of Australia. He became a founding director of the Center. A building located in the MDM Questacon - it is a gift of the government of Japan in the 200-year anniversary of the founding of Australia.

Inside the Center is divided into seven galleries, each dedicated to a specific topic. For example, "Tyrannosaurs" - perhaps the most popular exhibition introduces the history of prehistoric reptiles. Or «MiniQ» - an exhibition designed for children from birth to 6 years, all the exhibits that you can touch, smell and taste. "Freefall" - a giant mound 6 to 7 meters. "Miracle" tells about the effect of the northern lights, holograms, and Fresnel lenses. And "Fantastic Earth" traces the history of natural disasters and geological changes in the development of our planet.

In addition to the exhibition grounds in Canberra, Questacon hosts many visiting programs work with the population of Australia.
