Natural Science Museum is located in a historic building in the center of Burgas. The history of the museum complex began in 1951, when Bourgas opened a temporary exhibition. Among the 600 exhibits were presented minerals, fossils, birds and mammals. In 1974, as a result of the expedition to Strandja, Sakar and the Black Sea coast in the museum, a host of samples of vertebrates. The collection is available in six halls with a total area of ​​250 square meters. meters. It has more than 1,700 exhibits, 299 drawings and maps, 102 photograph. By studying museum exhibitions, visitors can fully acquainted with the natural wealth of the area of ​​Burgas.

Section "Geology" dedicated to the history and characteristics of the geological development of the region. The main findings were brought to the shores of the Black Sea, from the Strandja, the Western Balkans and the flat part of the district of Burgas. Visitors can see the rocks and minerals Archean, Paleozoic and Mesozoic rocks and fossils from Cenozoic, about 40 species of paleontological specimens (antlers deer, a tooth of a mastodon, jaw rhinoceros, etc..) In the section "Botany" shows samples of plants (including endangered and protected species), coastal sands, wetlands and forest areas. The exhibition includes more than 68 plant families.

The collection "Invertebrates" contains about 1,000 species of animals - protozoa, coelenterates, terrestrial, freshwater, marine arthropods and mollusks, crabs, scorpions and insects.

In the "Vertebrates" you can see about 320 representatives of the animal world: fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. All exhibits are arranged according to the principle of evolutionary development.
