Church of Santa Maria dei Miracoli is located in Corso Vittorio Emanuele in Brescia. Initially it was built specifically for the storage of icons, which are attributed to the miraculous properties. The project of the church with its front cylindrical dome was completed by the architect Ludovico Beretta in 1480-1490-m respectively. However, the most outstanding elements of the building - elaborately decorated with marble reliefs on the facade and portico - were designed by the architect and sculptor Giovanni Antonio Amadeo and recorded with many other artists. Total on the decoration of the church interior and exterior work 16 artists, among whom was a nephew of Antonio della Porta of Osteno - Tamanino. Such an abundance of sculptural detail reminiscent of Renaissance style monastery Paviyskaya Certosa.

Once at the church of Santa Maria dei Miracoli was seen spectacular painting "Saint Nicholas of Bari with two children in front of the Virgin Mary" brush Moretto, now stored in the Pinakothek Tozio Martinengo. The church also were two luxury frescoes Gracio Kossali - "Baptism of Christ" and "Adoration of the Magi."

Interior of Santa Maria dei Miracoli was severely damaged during the bombing of Brescia during the Second World War - it is interesting that the airstrike was a mistake, instead of the church was supposed to bomb located next to the Bank of Italy. Thus the appearance of the church was hurt - a beautiful wooden façade was protected forests (today preserved some photos framed scaffolding temple those years). Subsequently, the interior of the building has been carefully restored, and when, after the end of World War II, Santa Maria dei Miracoli saw Winston Churchill, he called the church one of the most beautiful he had seen in his life.
