Borisov United Museum was founded immediately after the end of World War II in 1946. The whole country was in ruins, the museum does not have its own building, but a collection of a collection devoted to the history of his native city has already begun.

The grand opening of the new museum in Borisov was December 17, 1950. For the first time visitors could see a unique collection of archaeological finds on the parking places of the ancient people who inhabited the region thousands of years ago. Among the unique exhibits - the axes of primitive people of the Stone Age, scallops from moose antlers, beautiful bronze women's and men's jewelry, glass beads, rings, buckles.

Now the museum is located in 6 halls. Its collections include more than 48 thousand exhibits.

Of particular note is the collection dedicated to the War of 1812. Visitors can see the original uniforms of the Russian and French armies, cold steel and firearms, the kernel and many other objects found on the battlefields under Borisov.

Heavy legacy of the Great Patriotic War has got modern Belarus. About three years of the Nazi occupation of the city tells the exposition dedicated to the activities of the underground guerrilla movement and the Borisov region. There are photographs, military awards, weapons, personal items, keeping the memory of the heroic valor and courage of those who approached the Great Victory.

Interesting collection Borisov United Museum will present to fans of old books. Visitors can see these ancient manuscripts and early printed rarities, as well as get acquainted with the process of printing.

The exposition of ecclesiastical worship of different faiths will offer the most familiar with the icons, church utensils, holy books, is stored for a long time in the Soviet special storage.

Ethnographic collection will be of interest to people of all ages and all faiths. It depicts the life of Belarusian peasants as she was in the XIX century - the heyday of national crafts. Before visitors appear cozy corner Belarusian hut, a man and a woman in national embroidered robes, spinning wheel, Krynki, towels - everything is familiar to any Belarusians from childhood, home and family.
