Shtiftskirhe Church or the Catholic Cathedral Church - the oldest building in Baden-Baden and the first parish church of the city. The temple was built and opened in the first half of the 13th century.

Originally made in Romanesque style, the church was transformed several times. The restructuring of the temple is made in the 16th century, giving it the characteristic features of the late Gothic, in the 18th century style of the buildings became closer to the Baroque, and its present appearance in the Gothic style it acquired in 1867. The church belongs to the Protestant community. The sculptures of the patron saints of the church is decorated with its main portal, the apostles Peter and Paul to look down from a height into the temple.

The sight of the church is its organ, the first mention of which dates from 1558 year. In 1689, the organ and the whole church was destroyed by fire, but later recovered. By 2003, fully completed work to bring the church into line with modern standards of acoustics. Today it is possible to fully enjoy the magnificent sound of a musical instrument.

At the top of the choir in 1967 on the site of the main altar is a monumental stone cross, created in 1467 by the German sculptor Nicholas Gerhard von Leyden. The height of the cross is 6, 47 m, it is made entirely of limestone.

The church is decorated with 14 sculptures of the tombs of the Margraves of Baden. In 1948, for the bell tower of the church were specially cast nine copper bells chime that is recognizable and attractive not only for tourists but also for the city dwellers.
