Princess Alice Bank - a mountain which is under water. Shoal located in the Azores, 93 km south-west of the island of Pico and 83 km south-west of the island of Faial. And the island of Pico and Faial Island form a central group of islands that are part of the archipelago of the Azores.

The minimum depth of the Princess Alice Bank is 35 meters. Region of the Azores is famous for clear water, which can be seen through the bottom of the ocean and various inhabitants of the underwater world. Shoal was discovered in the Oceanographic Company in 1896. He headed this company Albert I, Prince of Monaco, and made it into a research vessel "Princess Alice". The expedition was conducted in July and 9 numbers have been initiated research on the deep waters, in which at a depth of 241 meters were discovered rocky reefs. Once cleared the surface, the team found an impressive size platform perimeter of approximately 55 km. Charlwood Captain Henry Carr, personal assistant of Prince Albert I and navigation vessel "Princess Alice", conducted bathymetric (hydrographic) shooting, and after the telegram was reported to King Carlos I of Portugal about this discovery. The telegram said about the measurements made, and that the bank is rich in fish. For this discovery the Prince Albert I was awarded the King Carlos I of the Order of Santiago.
