Regional (Local History) Museum of Antofagasta - it is one of twenty-six museums under the jurisdiction of the Office of the Chilean libraries, archives and museums.
Antofagasta Museum is currently housed in two buildings declared historical monuments. Its permanent exhibition is located in the former customs house, which was built in 1867. In 1972 he was declared a National Historic Landmark. Library, video library, laboratory and administrative offices of the Local History Museum located in the former building of the maritime administration, which was built in 1910. In 1978, it also contributed to the list of national historic sites of Chile.
