One of the main attraction is considered to Aarau town church, built probably in the period from 1471 to 1478 years. However, produced in the 1934/35 and 1959/1960 respectively archaeological excavations have revealed that the church in the territory of Aarau already existed in the VI century AD. Documents in the possession of the Church also confirm this information, but with the proviso that in those years the Church of Aarau was not independent, and belonged to the district of Sur.

It is known that a new building was erected on the site of the old, so that we can say that the city church of Aarau is one of the oldest in the region. Modern building represents a three-nave basilica, towering over residential areas. On the square in front of it is installed so-called Fountain of Justice, erected in 1643 by sculptor Heinz Henze.

The facade of the building is modest, painted flat white. The interior, too, is not distinctive in style, but look at this no poor, and in a sense, even solemn. This happens to a certain extent due to the narrow and high stained-glass windows created by Felix Hoffmann in the XX century. Depicted in stained glass scenes from the Old and New Testaments. Besides window located in the eastern part, made of a dark glass to dampen bright colors glare of the sun, while the southern play bright colors.

A little later, between 1968 and 1970 it was created 8 stained glass windows, depicting the prayer "Our Father."

The first organ in the church appeared in 1700, in 1962 it was replaced by a more modern instrument in the register 61.
