The most famous and popular street in Aalborg is a pedestrian street Yomfrue Ane Gade, which in translation sounds like "virgin Anne Street." Historians, ethnographers interested in whose honor was named this street so popular now. But unfortunately, in the archives of a thousand-year history of Aalborg interesting mention of virgins named Anna could not be found.

Previously, it was one of the ordinary streets inhabited by merchants and traders. Who Yomfrue Ane Gade are only nightclubs, restaurants, pubs, cafés, street traffic is more than a thousand people a day. In May 1967 it opened the first disco night Gaslight - one of the oldest night clubs in Denmark. In 1970, the street Yomfrue Ane Gade was discovered 10 bars, a nightclub and a restaurant on the street, and in 1992 the number of schools has increased to 26 and opened Theatre maiden Anna.

In the morning and lunchtime cafes and restaurants crowded with tourists and locals, who enjoy the local cuisine, drink coffee, beer. From evening till morning the street is full of crowds of young people who are having fun in night clubs, dine in restaurants, rest from the daily bustle of the pubs.

To attract visitors to the owners of establishments outside Yomfrue Ane Gade organize theme parties, fashion shows, in the majority of bars and pubs, karaoke and live music. Most of the entertainment is open all night until 5am.
