Monastery of the Holy Spirit - one of the most important historical monuments in the city, located in the old center of Aalborg, near the square and streets Gemmel Torv Aubel Place.
In the early 15th century Aalborg was one of the largest cities in Europe. In the early 16th century, the monastery of the Holy Spirit evolved from a poor shelter in a thriving organization. During the Reformation in the 16th century Monastery of the Holy Spirit has lost its religious component, the ordinary shelter and left the hospital. Collegiate Church was destroyed by the inhabitants of the city.
In 1953 the monastery of the Holy Spirit was returned to the spiritual status, it is housed a nursing home. Today, the monastery is open for free visits.
