The building is a former magistrates, located in the picturesque Castle Hill, a member of the architectural sights of Zhitomir. The building was built in the 18th century and once housed therein urban governance.
Luxurious two-story brick building was built in the Neo-Renaissance style. Consistency of its form and severity of the architecture is still amazing. The main entrance to the building is in the middle, in a semicircular protrusion. The facades of buildings are covered by semicircular windows with complex decoration. On the first tier of windows are magnificent semicircular archivolt, and on the second floor - of the triangular frames Sandrikov supported by Corinthian pilasters majestic. The decoration of the building serves as a magistrate from the original cornice brackets and stucco frieze with floral ornament.
Like many monuments of history and architecture, the building of the magistrate was destroyed during the Great Patriotic War. This happened at the very beginning - in 1941, but after only a decade in 51 of the last century, the magistrate was completely renovated. The architectural appearance of the building with all its details and nuances has been fully restored. Now local authorities are planning to within the walls of a former magistrate put exposition art gallery.
