Zamoyski Palace - the former residence of the Zamoyski family, located in the western part of the Old City of Zamosc. The palace was built for the city's founder Jan Zamoyski, it was the first object, erected in the city after its creation. Over the years the palace has undergone many renovations and the building we can see today - not the most impressive architecturally option of pre-existing.
Construction of the residence began in 1579 by the Italian architect Bernardo Morando. The works were completed in 1586. Palace - rectangular two-storey building about 60 meters long, has a tower with a terrace and a double grand staircase.
In 1658 the palace burned down during a severe fire, but two years later the reconstruction of the then fashionable in the Baroque style.
The following changes were made at the request of Anthony Thomas Zamoyski in 1747. The palace was connected to the rear outbuildings, it was decided to make the tower below. On the front of the facade it was built by a publishing house, a tall metal gate, which formed a magnificent courtyard.

Shortly after the reconstruction of the yard was sold to the state and converted into a military hospital and then quite quickly lost its historic character. After Poland regained independence in 1918, the palace was transferred to the establishment of the City Court.
